Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
This policy explains what Method Med collects, why, and your rights. Contact: methodmedsupport@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name.
- Study progress: your answers, scores, notes progress and settings, so they can sync between your devices.
- Devices: a random device ID, a device name such as "iPhone · Safari" and when it was last used, to apply the 2-device limit.
- Access: whether you have paid, until when, and a Stripe payment reference.
What we don't collect
- Card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, which processes them under its own privacy policy.
- Your lecture slides or any file you open in the slides viewer. These never leave your device.
- Advertising or tracking data. We don't sell your data or show ads.
Why we use it
To run your account, sync your progress, give you the access you paid for, send you a welcome email (and a confirmation when you renew) and help you if something goes wrong. We don't send marketing emails. The legal basis is performing our agreement with you.
Where it's stored
Account and progress data is stored with Google Firebase. Payments are processed by Stripe. Account emails are sent through Google (Gmail). The site is hosted by Netlify. These providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
On your device
Method Med saves your progress and settings in your browser's local storage so it works quickly and offline. It doesn't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, progress and device records are removed. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Delete your account from the Account menu, or email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
