About Method Med

What is Method Med?

A revision hub for Leeds MBChB Year 1. It has practice questions with a reason for every option, notes organised by learning objective, narrated Learn videos, a glossary, mock exams and tools that target your weak spots.

Who makes it?

We're Leeds medics. We built Method Med because we wanted one place with everything for Year 1: questions that explain every option, clear notes, and videos that make it click. It's independent, not an official University of Leeds resource, and not endorsed by the university.

Does it cover my whole year?

It follows the Year 1 modules and their learning objectives. New lectures are added as they're released during the year.

Can it replace my lectures?

No. Method Med is for revising and testing yourself. Always use your lectures, official materials and timetables as the final word.

Free preview and pricing

What's free?

Lecture 1 is fully unlocked: the notes, the Learn video and the practice questions. You don't need an account or a card to try it.

How much is it?

£30 for 12 months of access to everything. It's one payment, not a subscription.

Will I be charged again automatically?

No. When your 12 months end, you choose whether to renew. If you renew early, the new 12 months are added to the end of your current access.

How do I pay?

Through Stripe, a secure payment provider. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Method Med.

Do I get a receipt?

Yes. Stripe emails a receipt to the address you paid with.

Do you offer discounts?

Sometimes. If you have a promo code, enter it on the payment page.

Can I get a refund?

If something's gone wrong with your purchase, email methodmedsupport@gmail.com within 14 days and we'll sort it out. See the Terms for details.

Accounts and devices

Do I need an account?

Not for the free preview. You need one to unlock everything and to sync your progress between devices. You can sign in with Google or with an email and password.

How many devices can I use?

Up to 2 at a time, for example a laptop and a phone. You can sign a device out from Account if you change phones.

Does my progress sync?

Yes. Your answers and progress are saved to your account and follow you to your other device.

How do I delete my account?

Open Account (the person button), then Delete my account. This permanently removes your account and progress.

Studying with Method Med

How are the questions written?

Every question is written from the Leeds lecture content and mapped to a learning objective. Each one explains why the right answer is right and why every other option is wrong, so you learn from mistakes, not just scores.

Are the questions like the real tests?

They're single best answer questions in the same five-option style, from straightforward recall to short clinical scenarios that make you apply what you know.

Do mocks repeat the same questions?

Each run draws a fresh mix, with questions you haven't seen yet coming first, and the answer options are shuffled every time.

What are the Learn videos?

Short narrated lessons that walk through each learning objective in order, with animated and 3D diagrams where they help, and quick checks as you go.

Features

What's the slides viewer?

You can open your own lecture slides (PDF) next to the notes. Files open on your device only. They're never uploaded, stored or shared.

Can I view PowerPoint files?

Browsers can't display .pptx files directly. In PowerPoint or Keynote, choose File, then Export or Save as PDF, and open the PDF in the viewer.

How does the Anki export work?

Choose the deck name and tags you want. Method Med builds the cards and sends them to your Anki deck, or gives you a file to import.

I think a question is wrong. What do I do?

Use the "Think we got something wrong?" link at the bottom of the home page, or email methodmedsupport@gmail.com with the lecture and question. Every report is checked.

Accessibility

Can I turn off animations?

Yes. At the bottom of the home page, set Animations to Calm (gentler, slower movement) or Off (no movement at all). If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, Method Med starts on Calm, and the Learn videos stop their 3D models from turning on their own. You can still drag a model to turn it yourself.

Is there a light mode?

Yes. Next to the animation setting, set Theme to Light, Dark or Auto. Auto follows your device's own light or dark setting. Learn videos stay on a dark screen so the diagrams keep their contrast.

Can I make the text bigger?

The notes have A− and A+ buttons to change the text size, and the site also follows your browser's zoom and text-size settings.

Can I listen instead of reading?

Yes. Questions have a Read aloud button, the notes have Listen, and every Learn video is narrated with captions you can turn on or off.

Can I use a keyboard?

Yes. Answer with the option letter or number and press Enter to continue. Alt shortcuts jump between pages; press Alt and / to see them all.

I get motion sick. Is anything risky?

Nothing flashes, and movement is kept slow and smooth. If any movement bothers you, set Animations to Off. Learn videos then show each step without moving, and the narration and captions stay the same.

Something isn't accessible for me. Who do I tell?

Email methodmedsupport@gmail.com and tell us what got in the way. We'll fix it or find a workaround.
